Celebrating Small Wins
It's easy to fixate on the big milestones — 30 days, 90 days, a year — and overlook the smaller wins that got you there. Getting through a hard conversation without reaching for a drink. Going to bed sober after a rough day. Asking for help instead of isolating.
These moments rarely feel like victories in the moment, but they're the actual substance of recovery. The big milestones are just the sum of hundreds of small ones nobody was there to applaud.
Try keeping a short list — a note on your phone, a line in a journal — of the small things you got through this week. On hard days, it's proof of how much you're actually capable of.
