Finding a Support Group That Fits
If your first support group didn't feel right, that doesn't mean support groups aren't for you — it might just mean that one wasn't the right fit. Groups vary widely in tone, structure, and philosophy.
Try a few different meetings or formats before deciding. Pay attention to whether you feel safe being honest there, not just whether you agree with everything said. The right group should make you feel less alone, not more judged.
Online communities, in-person meetings, and smaller peer groups all serve different needs. It's worth the search — connection is one of the strongest predictors of long-term recovery.
